Georgetown establishing a presence in the post.
In the first few minutes at the start of the game, Georgetown establish a post presence, which opened the offense up. Joshua Smtih scored the first few points in the game for Georgetown, then that allowed them to shoot some shots from behind the arc. Paul White came down on two straight posessions and made two threes from the same spot. The post presence and the attention that Smith is drawing is helping them in offense and it is transitioning to defense too. Georgetown needs to continue to go down low because everything will flow.
Joshua Smith playing well in the post.
Towson has no answer for Joshua Smith at this point in the game. When he is down low on the block, he is scoring and rebounding the ball really well. He has also passed the ball well out to the shooters. Towson has been fouling Smith a lot and he is a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line at halftime. Everything is looking goodl for him at the moment and he will need to continue that, even though they are running Towson out of the gym. Nobody on Towson can stop him and that is because of his size.
Paul White is coming along really well
Paul White has been playing really well over the past couple of games. His shot from behind the arc is starting to come along really well. The freshman has been doing a lot of the right things. He is not forcing anything and that is what has impressed me the most about him since he has been at the Hilltop. In this game, he is a perfect 3-for-3 from behind the arc and that is what is helping Georgetown the most. His length is paying off because is being aggressive on the defensive side of the ball, even though he does not have that many rebounds.
