The Stakes

The Wildcats look to remain unbeaten and get off to their best start since the 1937-38 season where the Wildcats started 13-0 en route to finishing 24-4. Their current mark, according to the Villanova-issued game notes, is tied for the second best start in program history, which came during the 1948-49 and 1961-62 seasons. 'Nova is also looking to move to 9-5 all-time under Jay Wright in Big East season openers.

Butler, meanwhile, is looking for their first ever win against Villanova. The series history leans towards the 'Cats to the tune of a 3-0 mark.
