The Stakes

The Hoyas are looking to start off the conference portion of the season right to get to their ninth win of the season. A win against Xavier would improve John Thompson III's record in Big East Conference season openers to an impressive 9-2.

Xavier, meanwhile, is hoping to net double digits in the win column as they enter Wednesday with a 9-3 record. Chris Mack is 4-1 in conference openers, including a win over St. John's last season in their debut with the Big East, and in their previous stay in the Atlantic 10.
