Illinois St. vs. DePaul: Halftime Notes

The Blue Demons look to knock off their in-state foe, and pick up win number seven on the year.

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

  • This was an ugly half of basketball with both teams shooting under 50%. The Blue Demons were 10-25 for 40%, while the Redbirds were 12-37 for 37.5%
  • Jamee Crockett leads the Blue Demons, and the game, in scoring with 10 points on 3-4 shooting.
  • Getting back to it being an ugly half, both teams are turning the ball over like crazy. It's currently an 8-8 tie in the turnover department.
  • Of the 16 combined turnovers, only seven have been steals. There are a lot of unforced errors so far
  • For Illinois St., Daishon Knight leads the charge offensively with seven points on 2-3 shooting]
  • DePaul gave up a four point play with 2.5 seconds left in the half to go into the break trailing by three. Literally the first rule of basketball is "don't foul a jump shooter". That's awful.
