Following the likes of Derrick Rose, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James, the Georgetown Hoyas took the court in "I Can't Breathe" shirts prior to Wednesday's game against Kansas. According to ESPN, the team decided, as a unit, to wear the shirts.

The slogan comes from the video showing the final words of Eric Garner, a man who died in July after being placed in a chokehold by an NYPD officer. The officer was acquitted last week.

According to NCAA rules, warmups are not a dress code violation so long as they are removed before the game begins. Georgetown will not face any discipline from the NCAA.
