Bob Cousy Award watchlist announced: Smith-Rivera, Arcidiacono named

Two Big East names were put on the watchlist for the Bob Cousy Award.

USA TODAY Sports

Villanova Wildcats point guard Ryan Arcidiacono and Georgetown Hoyas point guard D`Vauntes Smith-Rivera were named as two of the 36 players in college basketball on the Bob Cousy Award watchlist on Tuesday.

Arcidiacono and Smith-Rivera are the lone Big East representatives on the watchlist, as several names, such as DePaul's Billy Garrett Jr., who was the Big East Rookie of the Year in the 2013-14 season, did not make the cut.

Typically, the watchlist is hemmed down to 20 semifinalists in the latter portion of the season, so it will be interesting to see if these two players can live up to their expectations in what is a pretty loaded field, and perhaps make a big run at nabbing the award.
