In their first true non-conference test of the season, the Butler Bulldogs will take on No. 5 North Carolina in the opening round of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas. The Bulldogs enter the game with a 3-0 record through the first two weeks, including dominating performances over Maine and Loyola (MD). Led by juniors Kellen Dunham and Roosevelt Jones, Butler will need to find its offensive rhythm early to keep up with a Tar Heels team that is averaging nearly 90 points per game this season.
Also entering the game with a 3-0 record, North Carolina picked up its best win of the season this weekend with 90-72 victory over Davidson. Forward Kennedy Meeks, who is listed at 6'9", has been dominant down low for the Tar Heels so far this year, averaging almost 17 points and eleven rebounds per game. While he's still averaging 12 points per game, junior guard Marcus Paige has experienced a disappointing start to the year thus far, and will look to get back into dominant form in the Bahamas.
The winner of this matchup will face the victors of UCLA and Oklahoma on Thursday.
