Stephen F. Austin vs. Xavier: Game time, TV schedule, live radio stream and more

Frank Victores-USA TODAY Sports

The Xavier Musketeers hit the floor on Friday night for a matchup against the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks of the Southland Conference. This could prove to be a sneakily good matchup between two teams who were among the 68 to make the NCAA Tournament field in 2014.

The Musketeers are 2-0 after wins against Northern Arizona and Long Beach State. This will be the third home game of the season for them, as they are a week away from heading out west to take part in the 2014 Wooden Legacy event. They've been getting contributions from several of their freshmen, notably J.P. Macura and Trevon Bluiett. Macura accounted for 31.5 percent of possessions in the first two games of the season, according to Ken Pomeroy, and Bluiett has been one of the best offensive rebounders in the country with an OR% of 20.5 percent -- 27th best in the nation.

Stephen F. Austin had typically held serve in their home of Nacogdoches, Texas. But this past Tuesday, the Northern Iowa Panthers upended them in overtime, 79-77. This marked the first time that the Lumberjacks had lost at home since February 15, 2012 when the UT Arlington Mavericks stole a 51-47 victory inside the Johnson Coliseum. It's fair to guess that Stephen F. Austin may be seeking to open up a can of whoop ass on Xavier, much like the similarly named wrestler (who is also a native of Texas, coincidentally) so often did.
