The Xavier Musketeers hit the floor at the Cintas Center for the second time in the 2014 season on Tuesday night when they welcome the Long Beach State 49ers to Cincinnati. Xavier will be looking to keep pace with the rest of the conference, as Big East teams remain undefeated after a weekend's worth of play.
The Musketeers are coming off the heels of an impressive showing against the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks on Friday night. Matt Stainbrook was scorching throughout, as the Muskies defeated NAU by the tally of 90-63. Stainbrook will be looking to continue that trend, as he and freshmen standout Trevon Bluiett & Co. will be looking for win number two on the season.
They're matched up with the Long Beach State 49ers, who have already played two games this season, coming away with a hard luck five-point loss to BYU on Friday, and a win over Sacramento State on Saturday. The Niners, representing the Big West Conference, are led by senior Michael Caffey who has come out hot to start the year, shooting 62.5 percent from the field through his first two games.
