Update on St John's freshman Adonis Delarosa's eligibility issues; NCAA allows him to practice while he appeals

He can technically play, but St. John's would have to forfeit all games he played in if he was found ineligible, so they are taking the safe route.

Earlier this week the NY Daily News reported that St. John's Red Storm freshman Adonis Delarosa was likely to be ruled ineligble for the upcoming semester due to academic reasons.

Today, the story took an interesting turn. It was reported by SNY's Adam Zagoria that Delarosa had been issued a wavier granting him the right to play and practice while he appeals his case.

If he played in games and was later deemed ineligible, St. John's would have to forfeit any wins they obtain in which he saw action, so for now, he will only practice.
