The details surrounding Butler head coach Brandon Miller's leave of absence remain unclear. Today there was an update, of sorts. The Indianapolis Star's Michael Pointer tweeted the following:
#Butler fans: Heard a ton of different rumors and talked to a lot of people, but nothing new to report on coaching situation at this time.

Repeat what I've said before: Getting sense that players and coaches are planning to move on without him. #butler

Some asked about Miller possibly being fired: #Butler says he's on medical leave. If that's the case, tough to fire him under federal law.

The last tweet is the most interesting to me, as it shows that Butler can't really fire Miller if he's on medical leave. We'll continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as we hear them.
As always, we continue to send our best wishes to Brandon Miller and his family.
UPDATE: Chris Holtmann was named Butler's Head Coach on January 2, 2015, and given a multi-year contract.
