St. John's Red Storm guard D'Angelo Harrison once again highlights a Top 100 college basketball players list. This time it comes from CBS Sports.
The college basketball-centric trio of Gary Parrish, Matt Norlander and Sam Vecenie ranked the best players in the nation, with Duke Blue Devils forward Jahlil Okafor coming in at No. 1. Okafor, a freshman phenom, was also tabbed by Parrish & Co. as the CBS National Preseason Player of the Year.
The Big East was primarily featured in this ranking, as seven players from the conference were featured. D'Angelo Harrison of the Johnnies was once again the highest-ranked Big East Conference player, checking in at No. 53. The Red Storm featured three Top 100 players -- the most of any team int he entire conference -- with Chris Obekpa and Rysheed Jordan joining Harrison at No.'s 96 and 99.
Villanova's JayVaughn Pinkston and Darrun Hilliard were featured as well as they came in at No.'s 57 and 66. The Wildcats are primed for yet another strong showing in 2014 after winning the conference last season.
Elsewhere, D`Vauntes Smith-Rivera, who was recently selected as the Big East Preseason Player of the Year by the head coaches of the league, checked in at No. 54, falling one spot behind Harrison on the list.
Lastly, freshman phenom Isaiah Whitehead of Seton Hall came in at No. 63. Whitehead was named the conference's Preseason Rookie of the Year last week at Big East Media Day.
