The Georgetown cross country program had a stellar showing at the 2014 Indiana State University Pre-National Meet with the women taking first place for the second-consecutive year and the men placing third in their first outing at the Pre-National Meet since 2012. This is the best showing for the men at the Pre-National Meet since Patrick Henner took over as the Director of Track & Field / Cross Country in the fall of 2007.

The Marquette University women's volleyball team set an NCAA record by scoring 117 points in a four-set match to beat Seton Hall 32-34, 25-20, 25-23, 35-33 at the Al McGuire Center on Saturday night. The previous record was set by Cal State Fullerton (114) in 2009.

Providence Friars

The Providence College women's soccer team defeated BIG EAST rival St. John's, 1-0, on Sunday, Oct. 19 in Jamaica, N.Y. The Friars have won the past three games and advance to 8-6-2 (BIG EAST 4-3-0) on the season, while St. John moves to 9-6-1 (BIG EAST 5-1-1).

Next up in our Big East Preview Series is Seton Hall's cross-river rival: the St. John's Red Storm, who nicked the Hall by one point both home and away last season.
