Marquette Golden Eagles forward Deonte Burton and St. John's Red Storm point guard Rysheed Jordan were recently recognized by the NBC Sports-owned College Basketball Talk website as potential breakout performers for the upcoming 2014-15 season.
The list, which sees Louisville Cardinals guard Terry Rozier and Iowa State Cyclones guard Monte Morris as the top two candidates to burst onto the scene, features Burton at No. 7 while Jordan is right behind him at the No. 8 position. They are in quite good company, being featured amongst the likes of Rondae Hollis-Jefferson of the Arizona Wildcats, Zak Irvin of the Michigan Wolverines, Kennedy Meeks of the North Carolina Tar Heels and Norman Powell of the UCLA Bruins.
It's not the first time that the Milwaukee native in Burton has been picked to succeed in the 2014-15 season. Last month, Sports Illustrated's Luke Winn named him as a potential breakout candidate as well.
