It's that time of year again. Award watch lists for the upcoming 2012 college football season will be released two at a time for the next two weeks or so. Today, the Maxwell Award watch list was released. The Maxwell Award is given annually to the nation's most oustanding football player, regardless of position. Last year, Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck won the award.

This year, three Big East players have been named to the preseason watch list. Louisville sophomore quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (2129 yards, 15 TDs), Pittsburgh running back Ray Graham (958 yards, 9 TDs in just 8 games last year), and Connecticut running back Lyle McCombs (1151 yards, 7 TDs) all made the list. I'm a bit surprised to see that BJ Daniels didn't make the list, if for no other reason than he's a senior and USF has a chance to be pretty good this year.

You can view the full watch list after the jump.
