What they're saying ...
Extremely productive at Cincinnati, Isaiah Pead rushed for 3,288 yards while gaining 721 more through the air during his college career.
Pead displayed explosiveness, rushing for more than six yards per carry in his four seasons. Though he doesn't possess the size of an every-down back, Pead has developed a huge fanbase....
Pead's biggest flaw is his 5'10", 197-pound size. He probably isn't a 200-carry player in the NFL, and he won't be used much in the red zone.
However, Pead's game is great. He runs with power and strength while displaying great burst and agility. Outside of his size, there's little not to like about Pead as a player.
The St. Louis Rams have been searching for a change-of-pace back to complement Steven Jackson for quite awhile. With the 50th pick in this year’s draft, they got one in Cincinnati tailback Isaiah Pead.
Pead goes just 5-foot-10, 197, so he’s built like Bengals backup Bernard Scott. But Pead possesses 4.44 straight-line speed and averaged over 6.0 yards per carry in his college career. Pead also possesses punt return value.
