Video: Louisville Athletic Director Tom Jurich Talks Charlie Strong And Future Of Louisville In The Big East

Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich sat down with WHAS 11 in Louisville and discussed a number of topics. In the five minute interview, Jurich said that his greatest achievement in his eyes was making Title IX compliance and expanding the opportunities for female athletes to play sports at Louisville was his greatest accomplishment, followed by the new and improved facilities for virtually ever sport on campus (especially the expanded Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, The KFC Yum! Center, and Jim Patterson field).

Jurich also says that he expects bigger programs, especially those in the SEC, to pursue Charlie Strong, but that he feels they have a great relationship and that money will not be a factor in keeping Strong in Louisville. He said he enjoys having coaches that other schools want much more than having coaches that nobody wants.

Also of note, Jurich said Louisville is a happy Big East member and will always work to make the league as strong as it can be because, in his words, "the Big East has been so good to us." He did acknowledge, in language that echoes the comments of West Virginia athletic director Oliver Luck, that this was now a different Big East than the one that the school joined in 2005, and that he will always work to keep Louisville as well-positioned as possible, even if that means pursuing a Big 12 invitiation.
