Jae Crowder, Kevin Jones Named To Associated Press All-America Second Team

In a vote that will do nothing to settle the seemingly never-ending debate over which player deserved to be named Big East Player of the Year, Marquette forward Jae Crowder and West Virginia forward Kevin Jones were both named to the Associated Press All-America Team today. Both players were named to the second team.

While both had outstanding seasons, quite a bit of noise was made over Crowder being named the conference player of the year over Jones, despite Jones averaging a double-double for the season. Today's announcement that both made the second team together will likely only stoke the debate further. Still, congratulations to both Crowder and Jones, who both had outstanding seasons while playing under very different circumstances. Crowder led Marquette to the Sweet 16 and one of its better seasons since the Final Four season of 2003, while Jones played alongside almost entirely freshman teammates and all but carried the Mountaineers to an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
