BIG EAST Player of the Week
JAE CROWDER, Marquette, F, Sr.
Crowder scored a career-high 29 points and pulled down 12 rebounds with three steals in a 79-64 win at Connecticut. It was Marquette’s only game of the week, helpng the Golden Eagles remain in second place in the BIG EAST standings. The 6-6 forward shot 4-of-7 from 3-point range and 9-of-10 from the foul line. It was his fifth double-double in BIG EAST play. For the season, Crowder is averaging 16.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.3 steals.
BIG EAST Rookie of the Week
ANTHONY COLLINS, USF, G, Fr.
Collins averaged 16.0 points and 6.5 assists while leading USF to a 2-0 week. In Sunday’s 56-47 victory at Pittsburgh, he scored a career-high 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor and dealt six assists. He also 10 points and seven assists in a 65-51 win against Villanova. The Bulls are 10-4 in the BIG EAST and are assured of a winning league record for the first time in seven seasons in the conference.
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Dion Dixon, Cincinnati, G, Sr. Averaged 13.5 points 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 blocks in a 2-0 week. Had 20 points, six boards and five assists in a win against Seton Hall.
Hollis Thompson, Georgetown, F, Jr. Scored 13 points with 10 rebounds for his second double-double in three games in a win at Providence.
Jack Cooley, Notre Dame, F, Jr. Averaged 20.0 points and 15.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week. Matched a career high with 22 points to go with a career-best 18 rebounds against Rutgers.
C.J. Fair, Syracuse, F, So. Averaged 17.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week. Had 21 points with eight rebounds in a win at Rutgers.
Kevin Jones, West Virginia, F, Sr. Registered his 18th double-double of the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds in a win at Pittsburgh.
