The Rutgers Scarlet Knights will host an SEC team for the first time at High Point Solutions Stadium when the Arkansas Razorbacks visit on Sept. 21, 2013. The Scarlet Knights will first travel to Fayetteville to play Arkansas this season on Sept. 22, 2012.
"It is a constant priority to secure marquee scheduling opportunities for our football program and our fans," said Rutgers Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tim Pernetti. "This home-and-home series with Arkansas clearly illustrates another enhancement of that strategy. We are excited to have the Razorbacks as the first-ever SEC opponent to play at High Point Solutions Stadium and this agreement further enhances our future non-conference game schedule which includes Penn State, Miami and UCLA."
Rutgers is 5-11-2 all-time against the SEC. Rutgers' last game against an SEC opponent was in 2004 when the Knights defeated Vanderbilt. All six previous home games (2-4) for Rutgers against the SEC were played at Giants Stadium.
Frankly, I'm thrilled with this development. How about you? Are you ready to see Rutgers vs. Arkansas?
