Syracuse Basketball Remains No. 1 In Latest Polls, Georgetown, Louisville Still Top 15

The new college basketball polls are out. The Syracuse Orange (17-0) remain No. 1 this week. The Big East's ranked teams ranked below Syracuse took hits this past week in conference play and the new Top 25 polls reflect that fact.

The Georgetown Hoyas fell from No. 9 in both polls to No. 11 this week. The Connecticut Huskies which were No. 8 last week, fell to No. 17 in the AP Poll and No. 16 in the Coaches' Poll. The Louisville Cardinals fell from No. 11/10 to No. 14/15. The Marquette Golden Eagles fell from No. 20 in both polls to No. 25/24.

The good news (sort of) is that Seton Hall Pirates (14-2) finally made the Top 25 in the AP Poll at 24. Somehow the Coaches are holding out and only gave the Pirates 36 votes this week. Nevertheless, this is the first Top 25 appearance for Seton Hall since 2001.

The surging West Virginia Mountaineers got 33 AP votes this week and 9 votes from the Coaches' Poll.
