The No. 1 Syracuse Orange stayed in place this week in the new AP and Coaches' Polls. The Connecticut Huskies checked in at No.8 and the Georgetown Hoyas came in at No. 9.
The Louisville Cardinals (No. 4 last week before two losses) fell to No. 11 in the AP Poll and No. 10 in the Coaches' Poll. The Marquette Golden Eagles (formerly No. 14/13) fell to No. 20 in both polls. The Pittsburgh Panthers were No. 22 in both polls last week but fell out of the Top 25 in both polls after their third consecutive loss. The Panthers received eight votes in the AP Poll and six votes in the Coaches' Poll.
The Cincinnati Bearcats were back to receiving votes in the AP Poll with six after their sixth win in a row. The Seton Hall Pirates received two votes in the AP Poll and three votes in the Coaches' Poll.
