UConn Guard Ryan Boatright To Be Held Out Of Play Pending NCAA Review

The Connecticut Huskies announced today that freshman guard Ryan Boatright will be withheld from play pending an NCAA review into his eligibility. Boatright is with the team in Indiana as they prepare for their game tomorrow against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Boatright will not suit up against Notre Dame, but can sit on the bench.

UConn said in a statement

"This development arises from additional information provided by the NCAA that pertains to conditions and events that pre-date the University's relationship with Boatright"

Boatright was previously suspended for 6 games at the start of the season for taking improper benefits. Since making his first appearance on Nov. 26, Boatright has averaged 10.5 points per game, 3.5 assists per game and 3.1 rebounds per game in 26.4 minutes per game.

Boatright was due to have 400 family members and friends see him play in the Notre Dame game.
