According Jeff Borzello on the CBS Eye On College Basketball Recruiting blog, Kris Dunn, the #1 point guard in the class of 2012, will commit to Providence and new head coach Ed Cooley today. This represents a major coup for Cooley and Big East basketball, as some questioned Cooley's ability to recruit, especially to a place like Providence. It's also a shot across the bow to UConn and Jim Calhoun as Dunn is a New London, CT product thought to be favoring the Huskies.
Borzello also reports that star shooting guard Ricardo Ledo will also take an unofficial visit to Providence today while Dunn is committing. Landing Dunn adds to the Big East's collection of stars for the class of 2012. According to CBS MaxPreps rankings, (including Dunn) eight of the current top 100 are committed to Big East schools, with much of the top 30 still uncommitted. Here's a quick video of Mr. Dunn to whet the appetites of Friars fans.
