Jeremy Lamb and Maalik Wayns Tabbed as College Hoops Breakout Players in 2011-12

David Fox at Rivals put up his list of college basketball players who should be breakout players in 2011-12. Connecticut guard Jeremy Lamb and Villanova guard Maalik Wayns were on the list.

Lamb was a bright spot on a disappointing U-19 USA team that finished fifth in the FIBA U-19 Championships this summer. He already has a ring at Connecticut. Lamb, who was a 2010 Big East All-Rookie Team selection, will have to step up now that Kemba Walker has moved on to the NBA.

Wayns was the third leading scorer for the Wildcats last year behind Corey Fisher and Corey Stokes. The Coreys are gone so now the scoring load will fall to Wayns. Fox also says to keep an eye on Dominic Cheek in the Villanova backcourt.

Here's the full list of potential breakout players:

G-: Tim Hardaway Jr, Michigan; Jeremy Lamb, Connecticut; Maalik Wayns, Villanova

F: Perry Jones III, Baylor; Thomas Robinson, Kansas

Sixth Man: (Forward) Reeves Nelson, UCLA
