Tyler Gabbert to Enroll at Louisville

Ending a summer of speculation, the Louisville Courier-Journal is now reporting that former Missouri quarterback Tyler Gabbert will enroll at Louisville in this weekend for the July summer term. Gabbert, a four-star prospect out of high school, will sit out the 2011 season in his transfer year and be eligible to play in 2012. The most interesting aspect of the article is how it explains the DaMarcus Smith decision to go to UCF:

Tyler Gabbert quietly landed the Cards final scholarship in the 2011 class, which is partly whyDaMarcus Smith abruptly dropped his appeal to the NCAA and decided he’d honor his UCF commitment after all

Gabbert will have three years of eligibility left after he sits out 2011.
