Kemba Walker Selected by the Charlotte Bobcats with the 9th Pick of the 2011 NBA Draft

After the ritual booing of David Stern ensued, the 2011 NBA Draft began. Kyrie Irving from Duke was taken first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Connecticut's Kemba Walker was taken at #9 by the Charlotte Bobcats.

Last season, Walker carried the Huskies on an amazing run of wins. UConn went through the Big East tournament and then the NCAA tournament without a loss to win the Big East tournament title and then national title. Walker averaged 23.5 points per game during the 2010-2011 season.

Walker was the 10th Connecticut player drafted in the top 10 of the NBA Draft.
