DaMarcus Smith Puts an End to the Recruiting Drama

The recruiting drama surrounding Louisville Seneca High School quarterback DaMarcus Smith has been as juicy as it gets. A local kid gone big, Smith was committed to the hometown Cardinals for the more than a year but made an abrupt decommitment and signed with Central Florida in February. Then, amid allegations that potential runners may have been involved in pushing he and others to UCF, Smith requested a release from his letter of intent that was denied by Central Florida coach George O'Leary.

The Central Florida Future, the UCF student newspaper, now reports, with quotes from Smith, that he will in fact enroll at UCF in June after all. If so, it apparently puts an end to one of the more bizarre recruiting stories in recent memory.
