Big East Linkage: May 3

Big East Linkage is a news roundup feature on BECB. Feel free to send us any relevant links, stories or posts you think might be interesting to readers at bigeastcoastbias at gmail dot com.

Will He or Won't He?: Andy Katz thinks Hollis Thompson will return to Georgetown despite working out with the New Jersey Nets (HT/ Casual Hoya). Big East basketball players also expected to return to school: Ashton Gibbs (Pitt), Kevin Jones (West Virginia), Carleton Scott (Notre Dame). However, Louisville's Terrence Jennings has decided to sign with an agent and will remain in the NBA Draft.

Poaching Talent: Marquette blog Anonymous Eagle celebrates landing former Oklahoma basketball player TJ Taylor. Taylor will join the Marquette team in 2012. The addition of Taylor means that Marquette has filled up their complement of scholarship players for 2012 already.

The Unveiling: Louisville men's basketball coach Rick Pitino introduced new staff today. His new assistants include Richard Pitino (his son), Wyking Jones and Kevin Keats. Card Chronicle has the video, if you are interested in that sort of thing.

Seton Hall Has Class: Seton Hall head basketball coach Kevin Willard announced the spring signing class of six players. Willard is looking for three of today's signees (Kevin Johnson, Sean Grennan and Brandon Mobley) to contribute immediately.

Big East Behaving Badly: West Virginia DL Jorge Wright has been suspended indefinitely by head coach Bill Stewart. Wright was said to have violated team rules. He was allowed to play in the West Virginia spring game despite being arrested the day preceding the spring game for marijuana possession and carrying a firearm without a license (both misdemeanors).

Former Villanova basketball player (and current Charlotte Bobcat) Dante Cunningham was arrested near the Nova campus and was found with marijuana and a loaded BB gun.
