Boise State Can Wear All-Blue Uniforms At Home In Big East, But Can't Use Noisemakers?

Hello there, Boise St. Broncos. I just got off the phone with the Big East. We have an update for you on two matters of football policy. The first is about your beloved all-blue uniforms. You can return to wearing them at home on the blue turf if you wish. It's not an issue for us. You're welcome.

The second bit of policy is the rule on artificial noisemakers. These are prohibited. However, you may be able to get away with it during non-conference football games. Here's some pictorial evidence from this season's Cincinnati vs. NC State game (9/22/11).

As you can see, Cincinnati quarterback Zach Collaros rushes in for the TD and the fans grab their thundersticks or thunderstix (I don't know the preferred nomenclature) and bang 'em together. Was there a distinct home-field advantage at Nippert Stadium that night because of the sticks/stix? Well, the Bearcats won 44-14...

Final verdict on noisemakers: Not allowed...but you might be able to get away with it, even on a nationally televised Thursday night game.
