BIG EAST Player of the Week
KRIS JOSEPH, Syracuse, F, Sr.
Joseph was named MVP of the NIT Season Tip- Off after averaging 19.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals in wins over Virginia Tech (69-58) and Stanford (69-63). His consistent performances included 20 points and 10 boards against Virginia Tech and 18 points and nine rebounds against Stanford.
BIG EAST Rookie of the Week
ANDRE DRUMMOND, Connecticut, F, Fr.
Drummond averaged 11.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks in a 2-1 week for the Huskies. In a 78-76 overtime win against No. 20 Florida State in the Battle 4 Atlantis tourney, Drummond posted 12 points, 10 rebounds, seven blocked shots and three steals.
BIG EAST Honor Roll
Cleveland Melvin, DePaul, F, So. Was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Old Spice Classic after averaging 21.0 points and 6.3 rebounds. The Blue Demons beat Texas Tech (76-70) and Arizona State (68-64) and took a one-point loss to Minnesota (86-85).
Jason Clark, Georgetown, G, Sr. Made the All-Tournament Team at the EA Sports Maui Invitational after averaging 23.0 points and 4.3 rebounds.
Tray Woodall, Pittsburgh, G, Jr. Averaged 10.3 points and 9.0 assists while committing only eight turnovers in a 3-0 week. Had a pair of double-doubles.
Herb Pope, Seton Hall, F, Sr. Posted a pair of double-doubles while averaging 16.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots in wins over Yale (73-62) and Saint Peter’s (63-54).
Kevin Jones, West Virginia, F, Sr. Recorded 23 points and 10 rebounds in the Mountaineers’ only game of the week, an 83-48 win over Morehead State. Jones leads the BIG EAST in scoring (21.8) and rebounding (12.3).
