Week Three Basketball Top 25 Polls: Louisville Up to No. 7, Pitt down to No. 16/17, Cincinnati Drops Out

The new AP and Coaches Polls are out for college basketball. Even though Cincinnati (No. 20 last week) dropped out of both polls after a surprising loss to the Presbyterian Blue Hose, the Big East is still well represented with five teams in the polls.

No. 4 Connecticut and No. 5 Syracuse stayed in the same spots. Louisville is now No. 7 in both polls. Marquette is up to No. 16 in the AP and No. 17 in the Coaches Poll. Pittsburgh is down to No. 16 in the Coaches Poll and No. 17 in the AP Poll.

Four other Big East teams received votes between the two polls.

Cincinnati received 30 votes in the AP Poll and 23 votes in the Coaches Poll. Villanova had 18 AP votes and 48 Coaches votes. Notre Dame received one vote from the Coaches and four votes in the AP Poll. West Virginia received one vote from the AP.
