Last Meeting
Georgetown defeated DePaul, 90-81, January 2 at Wintrust Arena. Jessie Govan and Marcus Derrickson combined for 49 of Georgetown’s 90 points.
One Big Thing
The fact that Govan and Derrickson both went off in the last Georgetown/DePaul meeting makes this section very easy.
DePaul didn’t have Marin Maric or Jaylen Butz last game against Butler. It doesn’t seem like they’re going to have either one against Georgetown, either. This poses a huge problem for the Blue Demons, because Govan and Derrickson are going to be able to do whatever they want on both ends of the court. The Blue Demons’ have displayed above-average interior defense this year, but not having Maric as a big presence in the middle against a top-notch center like Govan spells trouble for DePaul.
