Big East Coast Bias Basketball Power Rankings: WEEK SIXTEEN EDITION

Some shifting around in the final week!

Our latest edition of Power Rankings are out!

In this week’s edition, 12 pollsters ranked the Big East teams 1-10.

10. Georgetown Hoyas

(Score: 9.67; Last Week: 9; Highest Vote: 9; Lowest Vote: 10)

“You lose to DePaul, and you go to 10th. Those are the rules.” - Chris Novak

“What a nightmarish season for the Hoyas.” - Robert O’Neill

9. DePaul Blue Demons

(Score: 9.33; Last Week: 10; Highest Vote: 9; Lowest Vote: 10)

“DePaul did something they hadn’t done in 26 years. Hats off to ‘em.” - Chris Novak

“DePaul won.” - Robert O’Neill

8. St. John’s Red Storm

(Score: 8.00; Last Week: 8; Highest Vote: 8; Lowest Vote: 8)

“Do YOU want to play St. John’s? I don’t know if you do.” - Chris Novak

“St. John’s is probably the team from the Wednesday night Big East Tournament slate that I would most want to avoid in the later days.” - Robert O’Neill

7. Marquette Golden Eagles

(Score: 7.00; Last Week: 4; Highest Vote: 7; Lowest Vote: 7)

“To think that it wasn’t too long ago that Marquette beat Villanova at home. What a downslide.” - Chris Novak

“Marquette is still going to make the NCAA Tournament barring something crazy, but this isn’t the most ideal finish for them.” - Robert O’Neill

6. Seton Hall Pirates (1)

(Score: 5.25; Last Week: 6; First Place Votes: 1; Lowest Vote: 6)

“More power to Seton Hall who’ve handled their business as well as they could’ve in the past few games. They could very well be Tourney-bound.” - Chris Novak

“Seton Hall might make the NCAA Tournament for back to back seasons for the first time since the early 90s. That’s pretty cool.” - Robert O’Neill

5. Xavier Musketeers

(Score: 5.17; Last Week: 5; Highest Vote: 4; Lowest Vote: 6)

“Yikes.” - Chris Novak

“Certainly not the most ideal way to finish the season for Xavier.” - Robert O’Neill

4. Providence Friars

(Score: 4.00; Last Week: 7; Highest Vote: 3; Lowest Vote: 5)

“Hottest team in the conference. Ed Cooley should be a strong Big East Coach of the Year candidate.” - Chris Novak

“Providence is two games away from a classic #RunTheTable. Nice!” - Robert O’Neill

3. Creighton Bluejays

(Score: 3.33; Last Week: 3; Highest Vote: 3; Lowest Vote: 4)

“Marcus Foster seems pretty good.” - Chris Novak

“Remember when Marcus Foster was slumping? LOL.” - Robert O’Neill

2. Butler Bulldogs

(Score: 2.00; Last Week: 2; Highest Vote: 2; Lowest Vote: 2)

“Nothing like sweeping Villanova AND Xavier in the same season, huh?” - Chris Novak

“Remember when Kelan Martin was slumping? LOL.” - Robert O’Neill

1. Villanova Wildcats (11)

(Score: 1.17; Last Week: 1; Highest Vote: 1; Lowest Vote: 3)

“Well, so long as they take care of Georgetown and win the Big East Tourney, ‘Nova should be a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.” - Chris Novak

“Villanova could use Darryl Reynolds back, but as long as he’s back by their second NCAA Tournament game (they won’t need him in the 1/16), they’ll be fine.” - Robert O’Neill
