As the college basketball world anxiously awaits the Villanova/North Carolina game, Marquette Golden Eagles fans had some good news bestowed upon them on Sunday afternoon, with the news that 2017 guard Markus Howard would be committing.
Howard, a four-star point guard from Arizona, was recruited by Marquette assistant Stan Johnson going back to Johnson's time at Arizona State.
Howard is a volume scorer, as shown in the video below.
Howard is still in the class of 2017 for now, but there is a chance he could reclassify, as it's something he's discussed in the past.
Four-star point guard Markus Howard has committed to Marquette. Would expect him to reclassify to 2016 as well.

Marquette's scholarship situation for 2016 is interesting. As it stands right now, they have zero open scholarships for next season, however, Brendan Bailey will be taking two years to do Mormon mission work, so his scholarship wouldn't count. If Howard re-classifies, Marquette would be at zero, unless a player transfers or leaves for the NBA Draft.
