On Monday morning, the Marquette Golden Eagles will board a plane to Italy for a 10-day journey during which they will face four Italian pro teams.
One member of the Golden Eagles' highly touted recruiting class, however, will not be able to play in any of those games.
Haanif Cheatham, a four-star combo guard from Fort Lauderdale, Florida is still awaiting clearance from the NCAA, according to Marquette head coach Steve Wojciechowski, via Matt Velazquez.
Wojciehowski discussed this news within the confines of the article:
"It's a procedure that all kids have to go through and some take longer than others," said Wojciechowski, who informed the rest of the team after Sunday's practice. "It's unfortunate, but the good news is he's able to travel to Italy with us."
Per Velazquez, "There is no clear timetable for when Cheatham could be cleared, but the school has been informed that clearance won't come during the trip."
