Tony Carr commits to Penn State over Maryland and Providence

Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports

Four-star point guard Tony Carr of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has elected to attend Penn State University.

The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native chose the Nittany Lions over the Providence Friars, Maryland Terrapins, SMU Mustangs and Temple Owls on Monday as the highly-touted point guard will give PSU a big boost when he arrives in the fall of 2016.

Many Big East teams were pursuing the 6-foot-4, 180-pound point guard from The City of Brotherly Love. Providence was joined by Georgetown and Xavier at certain times during his recruitment period. Although PC was among his top five choices - along with Maryland, Temple, and SMU - Carr never visited Friartown.

Best of luck to Tony Carr as he pursues the next level and beyond.
