Chris Mullin takes over a new-look St. John's squad, which will have some Italian flavor to it next season.
Multiple reports have confirmed Italian point guard Federico Mussini has officially declined his contract with Italian club Reggio Emilia and will join St. John's as part of its 2015 recruiting class.
Mussini burst onto the scene at the FIBA U18 European Championship, where he averaged 22.6 points and shot 43-percent from three en route to being named to the All-Tournament Team. He's a good ball handler with explosiveness that can play both guard positions, but he'll need to add some size to his 160-pound frame if he expects to improve defensively.

Several other schools expressed interest in Mussini, including Providence, Virginia and Gonzaga, among others. Ex-head coach Steve Lavin visited Italy to see Mussini play, so he's been on the Johnnies radar for quite some time.
