St. John's vs. (#22) Butler: Halftime Notes

After 20 minutes in Indianapolis, the Bulldogs lead the Red Storm.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Butler

  • Pretty much everything went right for the Bulldogs in the first ten minutes of the game as they opened the contest on a 15-6 run.
  • The Bulldogs are winning the rebounding battle (shocking, right?) by a margin of 20-18
  • Roosevelt Jones has led the charge offensively for Butler with 10 points
  • KAMERON WOODS DOUBLE-DOUBLE WATCH: Well, the rebounds are there, as usual. He has nine. It'll be the points that're hard to come by, also as usual. He only has four of those

St. John's

  • The Red Storm missed their first six shots of the game.
  • Rysheed Jordan had a half to forget as he went 3-12 with seven points
  • To make things worse for the Johnnies, Chris Obekpa was ejected with eight minutes left in the half for an elbow to the head of Tyler Wideman.
  • St. John's is already a very thin team in terms of depth. Without Obekpa, they are fledging a bit.
  • D'Angelo Harrison became the third member of St. John's 2000 Point Club late in the first half, joining Chris Mullin and Malik Sealy.
