The Butler Bulldogs' first year in the Big East Conference didn't go according to plan, but the Bulldogs made headway on Tuesday night when they corralled their first recruit of the 2015 class.

Nate Fowler, a center from Moeller High in Ohio, verbally committed to the university according to Scout.com's Evan Daniels.

Fowler, a 3-star recruit according to ESPN Recruiting Nation, gives the Bulldogs a size advantage as the Cincinnati native stands at 6-foot-10 and weighs 225 lbs. Fowler will be joining three other forwards - Kelan Martin, Tyler Wideman, and Jackson Davis - in the 2014 class that check in at 6-foot-6 or higher when he arrives to Indianapolis in two seasons.

Other schools that were offering Fowler were West Virginia, Miami and Dayton.

This past spring, the Moeller Crusader was a part of the Nike EYBL where he averaged 4.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while collecting 13.5 minutes a night.
