Following two victories at home, the Creighton Bluejays look to keep the momentum going as they host the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners Wednesday night. The game against the Sooners figures to be the toughest nonconference home game for the Bluejays this season and a big opportunity for Greg McDermott’s squad to pick up an impressive win. The Sooners will be the highest ranked nonconference opponent that Creighton has hosted since 2001.
The Sooners, who received a boost with the news of TaShawn Thomas becoming eligible, figure to be in contention for a deep run in March. Oklahoma defeated Southeast Louisiana on Sunday, 78-53, a game in which the Sooners looked rusty by only shooting 38.7 percent as a team from the field. However, Oklahoma boasts great shooting with the likes of junior guard Buddy Hield and dominant post presence with Ryan Spangler and the previously mentioned Thomas. It’ll be a huge task for this untested Bluejays team.
