The Stakes
Providence is looking to get Ed Cooley his 200th career victory as a head coach on Wednesday night. They are also looking to defeat their second of three America East teams that appear on their schedule after the Friars took down the Vermont Catamounts to open the season back on November 14th. Providence will also play the Maine Bears on December 20th.
New Hampshire is looking for another quality non-conference win to go with their road triumph over the Temple Owls on November 14th. They also have a 2-game winning streak on the line after defeating the Detroit Titans and Winthrop Eagles their last two times on the court.
Inside the Numbers
New Hampshire gets 37.3% of their scoring from beyond the arc this season, while only shooting 28.6% from 3-point range. The Wildcats’ scoring percentage ranks 43rd nationally but their shooting percentage is an abysmal 321st. Providence has only allowed 20.8% of opponents’ points to come from behind the 3-point line and the Friars only allow opponents to convert at a clip of 26.4%, good for 16th nationally.
