On May 19, it was reported that then-Marquette Golden Eagles assistant coach Mark Phelps was headed to join Sean Miller on his Arizona Wildcats coaching staff. On Friday night, a report has surfaced that has linked another school from The Grand Canyon State to MU.

The Arizona Republic is reporting that Arizona State Sun Devils assistant coach Stan Johnson is joining Steve Wojciechowski's staff for a similar position.

Johnson, who was retained from then-head coach Herb Sendek's coaching staff to join new head coach Bobby Hurley, reportedly notified the ASU staff on Friday of the plans:

According to sources, Johnson on Friday informed the team of his plans, which was made for family reasons. During his two-plus years in Tempe, Johnson had gained the respect of many within the school's athletic department, including Vice President of Athletics Ray Anderson. Over the last six weeks, Johnson also had helped first-year ASU coach Bobby Hurley with West Coast recruiting.

Per the article, Johnson was unavailable for comment at the time.

We'll certainly keep you posted here at Big East Coast Bias for any developments on this report and story.
