At the half, the Wildcats lead the Friars 29-26. Here are some notes from the first half.
-Feed the man-child that is Daniel Ochefu. As has been in the case in multiple games this season, the big man has been able to get almost anything that he wants, shooting a perfect 5 for 5 so far in the first half. Especially since the Wildcats are shooting pretty poorly from beyond the arc, Ochefu should get a touch on pretty much every possession, because not only will it benefit him in the point total, but it will also open up the floor for the other Nova shooters.
-Pretty clean half so far for both teams when it comes to fouling. The teams combined to shoot only 11 free throws in the first half (not a ton especially in this era of basketball with some pretty touchy foul calls). I think down the stretch, the team that's able to find the free throw line will find a victory.
-Don't let Kris Dunn's team-high six points fool you, the 'Cats have done a pretty good job so far on him defensively. He's only 3 for 9 from the field so far with two turnovers. Whatever the game plan is defensively, the 'Cats should stick with it, because Dunn has the ability to break open a game if he gets going.
