Marquette Golden Eagles freshman power forward Henry Ellenson has been named to the 2016 Karl Malone Award watch list.
Ellenson, a highly touted youngster from Rice Lake, Wisconsin, appears to not be wasting any time in garnering a bevy of hype from those around him. Ellenson joins fellow freshman Ivan Rabb (California) on the list, as well as the likes of Rico Gathers (Baylor), Kyle Wiltjer (Gonzaga), Georges Niang (Iowa State), Perry Ellis (Kansas), Brice Johnson (North Carolina), Caleb Swanigan (Purdue) and Shaq Goodwin (Memphis) among others.
The Karl Malone Award is in its second year of existence, having been awarded to Louisville Cardinals and current Houston Rockets power forward Montrezl Harrell a season ago.
