Georgetown and Syracuse to Play in 2015

The old Big East's best rivalry is getting back together.

Missing the old Big East? Those days aren't gone forever. This morning, Georgetown and Syracuse announced the restoration of a rivalry that drove the conference through its first three-plus decades of existence.

The teams will play four games, two at each school starting with the 2015-2016 season. The Hoyas will host first, with a trip to the Carrier Dome the following year. The two programs combined for 12 of the 34 conference tournament championships before the Orange left for the ACC. They squared off in the Big East title game on five occasions: most recently in 1992.

Syracuse leads the all-time series 49-41, with the Orange taking the most recent contest in the 2013 Big East Tournament semifinals.
