The Creighton Bluejays have been named a 4-seed in the 2016 National Invitation Tournament.
This is Creighton's 11th appearance in the NIT, but first under Greg McDermott. Their last appearance was in 2009, Dana Altman's final season in Omaha, which saw the Jays defeat Bowling Green before falling to Kentucky. It is McDermott's first NIT as well, as he never made it with Northern Iowa or Iowa State. The Jays are 5-10 all time in NIT games.
Creighton will host Alabama in the First Round on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN.
