They don't call him Dunkin' Desi for no reason. Whew.
On Garbage Time last night - great show, we 100 percent endorse it - Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole talked over highlights of the Syracuse-Georgetown matchup. The catch? As part of the game on Garbage Time they partook in, they had to speak as opera singers. Hilarity would ensue.
WOO! What a dunk this was. Creighton is beating in-state rival Nebraska down in the 1st half and this is one of many highlight reel plays from the opening 20 minutes of play.
Nice gesture. If you're planning on going to the game on Tuesday, consider bringing some food to help the less fortunate.
Jim Boeheim began his nine-game suspension from the NCAA today, meaning he'll miss the renewal of Syracuse's great rivalry with Georgetown, so the Georgetown Stonewalls (@GUStonewalls) clapped back with a vicious troll. Hear no Boeheim. See no Boeheim. Smell no Boeheim. (h/t @CasualHoya)
Congrats to these two superstars on the pitch for earning this accolade. Daly had a tremendous season at St. John's, wrapping up her career in Queens with 50 career goals including the game-winner to lift the Johnnies to their first-ever conference championship.Kearney-Perry, meanwhile, also wraps up a terrific career on the defensive side of the ball. Per the release from St. John's, this marks her first national honor and she was a two-time Defensive Player of the Year in the BIG EAST as well as a three-time member of the All-BIG EAST First Team as well.
Boeheim was appealing his nine-game suspension due to NCAA violations, and he lost. Real bummer that he has to start Saturday though.Luckily, Georgetown and Syracuse are set to meet next season, as well, which will be Boeheim's final season.
