The St. John’s Red Storm have added to their 2021 recruiting class.
Drissa Traore, a forward out of Long Island Lutheran High School in Glen Head, New York, announced his intentions to commit to the Johnnies on Monday. Traore made the reveal on his personal Twitter account:
Traore, listed at 6-foot-7 and 210 lbs., is a 3-star player in the Class of 2021 per Rivals.com and 247Sports’ standalone recruiting rankings. He ranks 50th amongst all power forward s in his class according to 247Sports, and is seventh in the state of New York. It’s a loaded class of course, led by White Plains’ AJ Griffin, who is of course a Duke Blue Devils commit and the #5 player in the country. Also in that group is Traore’s teammate Rafael Pinzon, who ranks second behind Griffin in the Empire State, as well as Brentwood’s Jordan Riley, who is committed to the Georgetown Hoyas.
Traore is the first commit for Mike Anderson in the Class of 2021. They are currently unranked at the moment on 247Sports, as Traore is not listed at the moment on their composite rankings. Nevertheless, this is a solid start for Anderson, who has two open spots left at this moment according to Verbal Commits.
