Yet another Top 100 player is headed to Storrs in 2021.
On Monday, Samson Johnson announced his commitment to the UConn Huskies. Johnson, a 4-star power forward from St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth, NJ, made the commitment known to the world on his Twitter account:

Listed at 6-foot-10 and 205 lbs., Johnson is a four-star recruit who’s ranked in the Top 100 via 247Sports Composite. He ranks second overall in the state of New Jersey, trailing Villanova Wildcats commit Trey Patterson of Rutgers Prep. Lastly, he currently sits 86th overall in the Class of 2021.
UConn will have a young and strong frontcourt come 2021 if things hold. With Johnson now in tow, he is currently set to join the likes of four-star center Adama Sanogo and three-star center Javonte Brown-Ferguson. Obviously, there is a lot of unknown about the status of the 2020-21 season for good reason. But Dan Hurley is putting together a rock-solid and youthful frontcourt.
Additionally, it is more than fair to say that UConn is kicking butt on the recruiting trail. Dan Hurley now has three Top 100 players in the arsenal for 2021. Johnson joins Jordan Hawkins and Rahsool Diggins in what’s no doubt a damn good class. Per Verbal Commits, there are no more open spots. But this should still finish at a really, really strong rank. Right now, they sit 4th in the nation in the 2021 recruiting cycle and still second in the Big East behind Villanova.
